I’m going to define what some of these terms mean and then I’m going to give you two great examples. First of all, what is the MBE? Stands for Minority Business Enterprise. For my female clients, WBE, women’s business enterprise. For my gay clients, there’s some credentials for you too.
And for my veterans, as I am a Navy vet, there’s a credential for you as well, too. Story number one: he’s a commercial plumber. Now get this commercial. Plumber. He gets certified.
He goes to the network ventures and instead of him trying to make gigs, he is so busy in the network ventures getting clientele from this, his revenue increases by almost 50%.
So he don’t have time to make the gigs anymore. Go figure on that. Another client, female. She has a unique business. She actually goes to events and she offers and service alcohol. Well once again, she goes to the network events.
She turned around and gets so many clientele just off of the mixers that she does not have time to make gigs on this. And she has the MBE credential as well as the WBE credentials.
I want to add a little nugget in here. In the good old days, if you had 51% ownership, you were good. They want you to have minimum 55, preferably 6%.. 60% interest in there if you have other shareholders or business partners
So I want to add another nugget. by my business being based in Long Beach, that means I’m in the county of LA. That is one of the most lucrative mixers or credentials that you want to have, but your business must be located in LA County.
