I was watching the broadcast of a lady talking about, yes, we are technically saving money. Here’s the problem. Because of the terrorists and because of the war, our purchasing power is yet diminishing. Get my drift? Diminishing.
So over time, if this war keeps going and keeps going, our purchasing power goes down. What do I mean by that? Interest rates are going to go up. Gas prices, we already know it’s going up. Grocery prices, we also know it’s going up too. Our stock portfolio, the value. We got to be concerned about this. This is just to name a few. A minister friend had a conversation with him yesterday.
He told me that God will provide. I said, hmm, that’s a nice thought. But faith without works is dead. That’s another verse in the Bible. In other words, we cannot sustain this over a period of time. Let me repeat this. We cannot sustain this over a period of time. Lastly,
We sometimes focus on the playoffs, but we don’t focus on increasing our bank account or reducing our debt. This reminds me of a short story by ASOP regarding the ant and the grasshopper. The ant, working, working, working, grasshopper out there just playing his fiddle, just playing his fiddle, it’s summertime. The ant implores.
The grasshopper to get ready for the harsh winter coming up. Grasshopper said, I do it another day. I got time, I got time. Winter comes up. The grasshopper’s out there freezing. Knocks on the ant’s door. Said, let me in, let me in. This coming up summer, I’m going to prepare storage.
Ant says, okay, I’ll share with mine, but next summer.You got to work like I do. Summer comes out, grasshoppers out there playing the fiddle all over again. When do we learn our lesson?
